Hamptons Observatory presents a free, hybrid lecture about the April 8th solar eclipse in-person at the Mastic-Moriches-Shirley Community Library in Moriches, NY (our co-host).

Learn essential tips for safely observing this natural phenomenon, understand the science behind it, and gain insights into the history of eclipses and their cultural significance. Whether you’re a seasoned sky-watcher or new to astronomy, this talk will equip you with actionable knowledge for a memorable eclipse-viewing experience. Weather permitting, after the talk Mr. Taylor will provide an in-person guided tour of the night sky via telescope.

Hamptons Observatory Senior Educator, William Francis Taylor, MSc, has been a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador since 2014, lecturing about the universe around us and sharing his love of the heavens by giving guided tours of the sky through telescopes. He is a life-long East End resident.
